Scope

The survey was commissioned by a private client to undertake a Topographic Survey and an Underground Utility Survey of approximately 480 acres of land in Cherrywood, Dublin. The site comprised of Greenfield, Brownfield, developed lands, roadways, woodland and Luas line.

The original scope was to produce a survey which could be used for the design and construction of the Cherrywood Development Scheme.

The survey has been kept up-to-date as the development has progressed with additional surveys carried out to capture new features and changes on site along with site setout and other surveying services.

Topographic Survey

  • Survey control network installed to the ITM coordinate system.

  • Survey undertaken by a mix of ground survey methods including GPS, laser scanning and conventional terrestrial instrumentation within the specified tolerances.

  • All hard and soft detail within the survey extents were directly surveyed.

  • Digital survey drawings produced in 2D & 3D in AutoCAD.

Underground Utility Survey

  • The Underground Utility survey was undertaken to determine the location of surface and sub-surface utilities and utility apparatus using non-destructive methods.

  • A large factor of the works required liaison with the various Authorities, public utility companies and landowners within the survey extents.

  • Certain areas of the survey work areas, such as works near the M50 and other public roads required the implementation of temporary traffic management arrangements. This required coordination with the local council and the M50 Concessions in order to obtain permissions to implement appropriate traffic management to complete the surveys.

  • Survey carried out adjacent to and on the Luas Line between Laughanstown Stop and Cherrywood Stop for approx. 250 metres of Luas requiring coordination with Transdev to obtain the relevant work permits and permissions to complete the requested works.

  • Digital survey drawings produced in 2D & 3D in AutoCAD.
