About Topographic Surveys
Topographic surveys are true to scale maps, drawings, models and 3D files which include all natural and man-made features. These features are represented by contours, text, symbols, and spot levels.

Built-up environments or surveys requiring a high level of detail such as urban centres, industrial facilities and congested sites are often surveyed utilising laser scanning techniques whereas rural environments such as green fields, laneways and ditches are often captured utilising GNSS and Total Station techniques.
These ground-based techniques are the most accurate data capture technique available and are the predominant methodology for production of high-quality survey deliverables..
Mobile Mapping is a surveying method that integrates GNSS, INS, LIDAR, and various other sensors affixed to a vehicle, enabling the collection of survey data while traveling at standard traffic speeds. This technique can be applied in a variety of settings, although it proves to be particularly effective and cost-efficient for extensive rail and road projects.
Drone Surveys are surveys captured from the air utilising LIDAR/ Photogrammetry techniques or a combination of both. UAV techniques are most effective over large areas or areas which are not possible to reach using conventional survey techniques.
We have delivered thousands of topographic survey projects over 30+ years which have ranged in scale from small residential properties to large urban infrastructure projects such as the BusConnects in Dublin city to large rural infrastructure projects such as the N2 in Monaghan.
The environments surveyed are equally diverse including rails, roads, schools, hospitals, commercial, residential and any other type of environment both rural and urban.
Quite often surveys are delivered in 2D/ 3D AutoCAD format, BIM LOD300 or a combination which could also include Point Cloud, Orthophoto, Survey Control Reports and other custom deliverables.
Topographic Surveys are often packaged with our other surveys such as Underground Utility Mapping, Measured Building Surveys and BIM Surveys.
