The N2 Ardee to Castleblayney and N2 Clontibret to Border road schemes are two major road schemes in Counties Monaghan and Louth which aim to upgrade the N2 Dublin – Derry Road.
Monaghan County Council commissioned Apex Surveys to carry out a Topographic Survey of the preferred route along with Underground Utility Mapping at urban areas and areas of specific interest.

Comprehensive survey control network established throughout the survey area.
Liaised with local authorities, land owners and other stakeholders.
Approx 18,000,000 SQM of farmlands surveyed.
Approx 60km of the N2 surveyed.
Many kilometres of secondary and local roads surveyed.
Waterways, rivers and streams surveyed using survey boat and sonar where required.
Topographic features included kerbs, walls, fences, street furniture, services, spot heights, road levels, contours and other above ground features.
Underground Utility Survey included foul, storm, electrics, telecom, gas, watermain and other subsurface infrastructure.
Surveys on public roads required implementation of Traffic MGMT as per Chapter 8.
Survey delivered in AutoCAD 2D and 3D formats.
