Scope

Hydrographic Survey of the Lower Lee in Cork City including a Topographic Survey, Detailed River Channel Survey and Drainage Survey.

Key Activities

  • River bed levels captured utilising sonar equipped survey vessel.

  • Alignment and levels of the bottom of the quay walls surveyed at low Spring Tide, including top and bottom of concrete toe plinths.

  • Fully developed elevations of the riverside face of the quay walls produced showing all relevant surveyed features, locations of cross sections and ground level on the roadside of the wall.

  • Structures such as bridges and culverts surveyed utilising terrestrial survey equipment to include position and level of wing walls, soffit, top of walls and inverts.

  • Topographic survey element included lands & flood plains adjoining the River Lee which included the collection of data such as spot levels and linear features such as kerbs, verges, buildings etc.

  • Drainage inspections carried out including connections, chamber dimensions, depth and diameter of pipes/ ducting.

  • The survey deliverables included 2D & 3D topographic survey drawings, hydrographic model, digital terrain model & georeferenced digital photographs.
