Scope

Apex were commissioned by an architect firm working on behalf of Transport Infrastructure Ireland to carry out reality capture surveys of assets of particular historic importance along the proposed MetroLink route.

Key Activities

  • Survey captured over 60 assets of historic importance in the vicinity of the proposed stations along the metro route to allow for in-situ preservation and conservation of the assets.

  • Assets were located in public and private areas requiring liaising with local authorities, government agencies, institutions and private land owners.

  • Survey required access to Irish Rail lands including PTS training to survey bridges, tunnels and retaining walls.

  • Survey required access to the Royal Canal at Glasnevin basin to survey canal walls.

  • Assets surveyed included church's, historic bridges, statues, historic lampposts, gates, railings, post boxes, stone walls, historic kerbing and paving.

  • Survey carried out using a combination of laser scanner, UAV and photogrammetry techniques.

  • Extremely high level of detail and accuracy required to ensure all features of the assets captured including the slightest embellishment or defect.

  • Photo-realistic models produced to provide a digital replica of each asset.

  • Dimensional Rectified Photos provided in AutoCAD.

  • Vector drawings provided in AutoCAD format at 1:20 and 1:100 scale.
