Scope

The Custom House is a Protected Structure and is listed in Dublin City Councils Record of Protected Structures (Ref: 2096) and its description on the National Inventory of Architectural Heritage as ‘one of Dublin’s key architectural set-pieces’.

Apex Surveys were commissioned by The Office of Public Works to provide a BIM Model, Measured Building Survey and Rectified Photos of the interior and exterior of the structure for use in the The Custom House Masterplan project.

Key Activities

  • Entire interior and exterior surveyed.

  • BIM Model was produced to LOD400 and provided in REVIT format.

  • Detailed elevations, floor plans, reflective ceiling plans, and sectional elevations were produced and delivered in AutoCAD format.

  • Consultation with OPW heritage architects was conducted to specify special items of interest such as key staircases, windows, doors, and railings, with these items drawn at a scale of 1:20 along with internal elevations.

  • Additionally, rectified imagery of building facades was captured using a combination of high-resolution camera, UAV and laser scanner techniques, and delivered in AutoCAD format.

  • Roof surveyed using drone photogrammetry techniques.
